What To Do If Your New Range Rover’s Warranty Is Expiring Soon?

What To Do If Your New Range Rover’s Warranty Is Expiring Soon?

When you buy a Range Rover, you get one of the best 4×4 vehicles on the road today. In a Range Rover you’ll feel in command. You’ll experience the finely tuned engine and all of the power it offers. Your Range Rover allows you to do things that other vehicles just can’t match.

Your Range Rover will give you many years of enjoyment on or off-road, and this is why it has to be looked after carefully. But if you’re warranty is about to expire, what should you do?

1. Stay away from general mechanics

First of all, you’ll need to find a service center that can handle Range Rovers and other off-road vehicles. The reality is that going to a general mechanic just won‘t do it. In fact, they won’t have the high level skill and expertise needed to service your vehicle.

Off-road and 4×4 cars are different to regular vehicles. When it comes to repairs and servicing, 4×4 vehicles need to be handled by mechanics who have a level of knowledge greater than general mechanics.

The last thing you want is to have your Range Rover repaired by someone who’s inexperienced. This is why you can’t just go to any repair service.

2. Look for a Range Rover specialist

You’re looking for a Range Rover specialist, so what should you look for? Here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Experience: The first question you need to ask is how long they’ve been dealing with Range Rovers, Land Rovers, and other 4×4 vehicles? Companies that have been offering a specialist service for a long time successfully can be trusted more easily because they have a track record.
  • Testimonials: The other thing to look for is customer testimonials if possible. If you can talk to someone else who’s used them, get their opinion. They say the best advertising is through word of mouth, so just ask around to see what people have to say about them.

3. Only use genuine parts

Now that you’re Range Rover warranty is about to expire, you might be thinking about using cheaper aftermarket parts for repairing your vehicle. But is this really a good idea or should you just stick to genuine parts instead?

Aftermarket parts are everywhere these days and the good thing is that they can be found pretty cheaply. Unfortunately, they come with the following downsides too:

  • Poor quality: Often the aftermarket parts are inferior in quality compared to genuine parts. They are sourced from a wider range of manufacturers, and these factories will often use cheaper materials and have lower quality standards.
  • Warranty: Every single replacement part for your vehicle should come with a standard manufacturer’s warranty. Unfortunately, this doesn’t apply to lots of aftermarket parts, making them a bad choice in case anything goes wrong.
  • Too much choice: You might think that having choice is a good thing, but when it comes to aftermarket parts this can be a downside too. When there’s too much choice, quality can vary too much and you could end up with a bigger problem on your hands.

When you stick with genuine parts, from the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) you get the following benefits:

  • Superior quality: When the original manufacturer makes the parts, you know you’re getting the best quality possible. They’ll have higher quality standards and will use better quality materials. Would you rather have a part made by Range Rover or one made by a nameless factory somewhere in China? The answer should be pretty obvious!
  • Warranty: The other benefit is that the manufacturer will always offer a standard warranty on their parts. This means that you can enjoy peace of mind.

One of the advantages of using an independent Land Rover specialist, such as us here at AAA Service Center, is that we can use OEM parts direct from the manufacturers themselves.

In comparison, an official Land Rover dealer can only offer genuine Land Rover parts – which are the same, from the same manufacturer, but come in a Land Rover box and hence are more expensive.

Always make sure the service center you choose uses OEM parts, as they are exactly the same (but cheaper) than the ones that just come in Land Rover branded box.

4. Knowledge and advice from experts

Finally, great service is about more than just servicing and fixing vehicles. If you’re looking for a great service center to look after your Range Rover, make sure you find one that can also offer expert advice on things like upgrades, restorations, and modifications too. You just never know when this kind of advice will come in handy.

Make the right choice

A Range Rover warranty gives you great peace of mind, but what should you do when it’s about to expire? You want to make sure your Range Rover is running well for as long as possible, so it makes perfect sense to find a service center that can offer you everything you need.

Choose one that specializes in Range Rovers and other 4×4 cars. Make sure they’ve got a successful track record. And make sure they only use genuine parts. Just make sure you stay away from general mechanics!
